We currently have a career opportunity as a Safety Coordinator with our Steel Division, Ocean Steel. This position will service both our steel plants, Saint John and Fredericton.
As the Safety Coordinator, you will provide safety leadership to management and employees through communication and guidance. You will do this through education and initiatives that proactively reduce the number of accidents with your ultimate goal being zero.
Communication is an important part of any successful safety program. As the coordinator, it will be your responsibility to brief workers on the day-to-day risks of the job, conduct orientations and discuss hazards and preventative measures with supervisors and management. In order to do this, you need to be the type of person who is able to build relationships and invests the time to understand the trades and type of work conducted in our plant.
With your fresh perspective, you will be able to find solutions to on-going issues you discover by conducting safety audits, workplace investigation and job safety analyses.
